"The Salt March is a legendary event in the history of nonviolence, and is a great inspiration for the World March for Peace and Nonviolence. The world today needs to remember these great examples of nonviolence, great examples of an organized moral force in action," said Roberto Verdecchia, Canadian Coordinator of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence.
"Vishnu Mandir is very pleased to be organizing this event with the leadership of our Dr. Budhendra Doobay who is a strong promoter of peace. That is the way of life at Vishnu Mandir," explained Kamlesh Shah, Temple representative for the Gandhi Walk.
In a world of tensions, conflicts, and war, but also a world in which people are beginning to call out for the end of violence as a means of solving problems, the World March for Peace and Nonviolence and the Vishnu Mandir Temple invite people of all ages, beliefs, and cultures to the Gandhi Walk, to join together in commemorating (and continuing) the remarkable power of nonviolence.
