Viggo Peter Mortensen, Jr. is American actor with Danish roots. Mortensen is also a poet, photographer, painter and musician.

Between his best performances are characters of Lalin in Carlito's Way from Brian de Palma and Aragorn in Lord of the Rings from Peter Jackson.

Mortensen has also received an Oscar's nomination for his role of Nikolai in Eastern Promises from David Cronenberg.
