African humanist Forum - The Strength of Diversity and Nonviolence
3.12.2008
The second African Humanist Forum, “The Strength of Diversity and Nonviolence” took place in Nairobi, Kenya from the 26th to the 29th of November, 2008.
120 delegates participated in the forum from 14 African countries: Cameroon, Congo Kinshasa, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Uganda.
The central goal of the forum is the mutual integration of African countries, to discuss the present situation and to find common solutions to African problems.
A great enthusiasm at this forum was created by the World March for Peace and Nonviolence, which will be held next year, in 2009.
The most common theme and request from the African people was not to waste 1400 Billion USD on weapons but to invest this money in other more beneficial areas such as food, healthcare, education and development.
The next African Humanist Forum will be in 2010, in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique.
