Demonstration against racism - Rome 04-10-2008
Rome (Italy). Giorgio Schultze participated in the Demonstration against all racism and for the free circulation of people that took place in Rome with the participation of 15,000 people from various organisations of the left and in the field of human rights.
The Spokesperson for New Humanism in Europe, Giorgio Schultze, participated in the Demonstration against all racism and for the free circulation of people that took place in Rome with the participation of more than 15,000 people from various organisations of the left and in the field of human rights.
The demonstration finished with the multi-ethnic concert and speakers from various groups. In the name of Humanists, Giorgio Schultze declared:
... After more than twelve years of anti-racist demonstrations and demonstrations against the Expulsion Decree of the 4th February 1996, nothing has changed either in Italy or in Europe… The European “Return” Directive and new waves of racism are pushing foreigners towards secrecy and to live and work in conditions of new slavery…
… We cannot accept that this region, that once was “a Land of peace and welcome” has become a nuclear arsenal, a land of racism and violence…
... In this dark moment in Europe, we are lighting the torches of light and hope, and we will begin the European Humanist Forum of Milan on the 17th October…
